Rooted in Survival. Rising for Change.

I’m Eliza—mother, survivor, and
relentless voice for the silenced.

I was raised in isolation, hidden behind the walls of a homeschooling system that kept me uneducated and unseen. At 37, I escaped decades of abuse from my family of origin, a cult, and a marriage that weaponized the court system against me. I haven’t seen my eldest son in years, not because I chose it, but because broken systems allowed the abuse to continue.

And yet, I rise.

With fire in my spirit and purpose in my bones, I earned my GED, Associate’s, and Bachelor’s degrees. Today, I’m pursuing my Master’s in Data Science through MIT’s online program. I live with my second husband, an Army veteran and college professor, our medically complex toddler, who teaches me daily about courage, and three cats who remind me to rest.

I’m working to reform the way our courts handle abuse, starting in South Carolina, but dreaming far beyond its borders. I fight for change not just because I survived, but because no one should have to.
